Statement on the so-called 'one million march for children' tomorrow

19 September 2023 - Tomorrow there will be a series of coordinated mobilisations targeting 2SLGBTQIA+ and particularly trans rights across Canada, which are styling themselves as a so-called 'one million march for children'. Kelowna Pride Society loudly and proudly denounce these campaigns and call on elected officials, policy makers, schools, school boards, educational bodies, parents, young people, and wider allies, to do the same.

A Joint Statement

19 January 2023 - Over the past year, trans and broader 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in the Central Okanagan have noted a deeply concerning trend: increased mobilizations by anti-trans and anti-2SLGBTQIA+ actors. This has affected our ability to carry out events safely, free from harassment and abuse. We think it is crucial to come together now and stand as a community against this wave of hatred.
